Skype- A Simple way to Transform Learning with Technology

2nd grade students at Martin City Elementary participated in a Skype session with author Cindy Lou Aillaud, writer of the book Recess at 20 below.  Students took turns reading portions of the book to Ms. Aillaud and then asked her questions about life in Alaska.

Skype sessions like this are becoming more and more common in the district as teachers realize the potential of such activities. Later this week 1st grade students at Belvidere will be Skyping with a scientist. If you are interested in the potential for using Skype in your classroom, you should check out the Skype in the Classroom website. Don't know where to start? That’s exactly how I felt all weekend long! “This is such a great town. I have such great friends.
Sadly, I missed many of the dishes you posted above, no doubt, because I was too busy gabbing and not focused enough on the task at hand: EATING EVERYTHING

Our art teachers recently did a project where all the students made colorful butterflies and then Costa Blanca they attached them all to a bulletin board in the shape of a GIANT butterfly. Might be a cool way to display them

I used to listen to piano music while doing my homework in college. I just figured I liked how relaxing it was. I never really thought about how it was helping me focus better.

The great music, wonderful food, fabulous drinks, and all in a warm-hearted Americana loveliness. I can’t wait to see it for myself one day. I’ve never been to this part of the US but if this is how you party.

We usually just throw on Pandora or iTunes radio. Pick a “hits” station or whatever fits the mood and let it ride. Of course, having a good sound system is key, but the music is free!
