Grandview Middle’s vocal music teacher, Mr. Levy, is doing great things with technology in his classroom.  Not only is he beginning to flip his class by posting instructional videos to Edmodo, but he strives to use some form of technology as often as possible with students.

Before break, his students completed a research project where they chose their favorite artist and were asked to analyze the genre, songs, and what makes the music appealing/popular to the public, among many other questions.  Students were allowed the freedom to choose their artist and the resources that they used to find their information.  Then, they took their findings and created a formal presentation about their chosen artists.

While Mr. Levy’s project falls under augmentation on the SAMR model, he has also achieved four out of the six GC4 Technology Strands:  student choice, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.  Check out the slideshows below to see some of the students’ creations as well as his assignment description and instructions.
