Library Media Specialist, Claudia Kimrey, at Grandview Middle School used Aurasma to spark student interest in the Truman Nominee books for 2014-2015. She created Auras for each book to allow students to preview video trailers of the books. GMS students can use an iPad to scan any Truman Nominee book cover in the library and watch the book trailers to get an overview about the book. It's a fun and easy way to provide students with augmented reality experience! Aurasma is an augmented reality platform app for iPads that allows you to overlay content (such as videos, links and 3D images) on an image. It uses advanced image and pattern recognition to scan the image and triggers it to view the content overlay. It's fast, easy and, best of all, FREE! Just download the app from iTunes, sign up for an account, and create your own Aura. You can view GMS library's Auras after creating your account by following Claudia Kimrey.
