Collaboration using Padlet

Padlet is an online, real-time bulletin board that allows you and your students, to collect and display information on any topic.  In addition to adding text, Padlet walls can be used to post a variety of multimedia from the web to include documents, video, images, and links.  You can even drag and drop files from your computer and have them displayed on the wall!

Padlet can be used in a variety of ways within the classroom.  You could post a thought-provoking question and allow your students to answer by posting various resources from the web, or you could use the Padlet wall as a place where students can debate, discuss, and express their points of view on a variety of topics.

You have complete control over the tool and its use in your classroom.  You can make posts open to the public, private, or moderated, depending on your preference.

Check out this Padlet that was created by the 6th graders at Grandview Middle School during their back-to-school technology safety lesson!  Students were asked to come up with an online safety pledge that they would try to uphold for the school year and post to the Padlet wall.  They worked simultaneously to come up with goals and post them to the 6th Grade Online Safety Pledge Padlet.
